Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for My sake will find it. --Matt. 10:39

A Little About Lou Bones

Picture
I got my first guitar on my seventh birthday, and wrote my first song "Clockwork" at age ten. It was around that time that people started calling me Bones. At first it was because I was so skinny and undernourished that my bones showed. Skin and bones, with a guitar; that was me. Thankfully, I've put on a few pounds since then. What hasn't changed, however, is my love for music.

At thirteen, an age when young people want all sorts of things that make their parents cringe, I wanted (and saved up for and bought) my first bass guitar. I played in local bands throughout my teen years, and

performed at parties and battle of the bands contests. As I got older, I started playing weddings and nightclubs, all the while dreaming of record contracts and reaching a bigger audience with my music. Eventually, I met a special woman, fell in love, got married, and had four children. Life on life's terms relugated my dreams to a place on a shelf in my heart as I pursued a more traditional career (one with a steady paycheck).

In 1983, I committed my life to Jesus Christ, became a Christian, and began to discover "all the new horizons waiting to be explored" that singer/songerwriter Steven Curtis Chapman sings about (in his song The Great Adventure).  My love for music and my love for what Christ did for me coalesced into a new dream: to minister to people's hearts and souls through my music.

Lou and his wife worship at Evangelical Fellowship Church in Stoneridge, NY.

Should God bless my efforts, you will find my first CD available on
www.cdbaby.com sometime later this year.
